Founded in 1985, Patmont Motor Werks started out as a family operated business, being run out of the garage of founder and Go-Ped??ventor, Steve Patmont. By 1989 the Go-Ped??siness had increased and the garage wasn't getting any bigger, so the operation was moved to a small warehouse about the size of a large classroom.
In those days most of the subassembly work was farmed out to outside machine shops and welders. Parts and motors purchased from suppliers had to be modified in-house in order to work on the Go-Ped??
Patmont Motor Werks was mainly an assembly plant and modification center for its only product, the Go-Ped??

In 1991 a world of Go-Pedding that had never been seen before was emerging. Originally used as a mild, compact form of transportation and individuality, the Go-Ped??d now reached the hands of the extreme sports world. From pro watercraft racers to skate and snowboarders, Go-Pedding was now taking on a new function and attacking new terrain. The development of High Performance parts and the natural instinct to race was now broadening the Go-Ped??rket.

By 1994 the constant improvement of the Go-Ped??d growing diversity of its uses not only forced another move but also the in-house production of many of the parts previously farmed out to other shops.

By this time many improvements to the Go-Ped??d occurred along with the production of a new product, the Go-Quad??cket cart. Originally introduced in 1992 as a sideline product that was produced almost exclusively in the post Christmas slump and never really considered more than a mild seller, word got out and Go-Quad??les also soared. Two very important developments happened to the Go-Ped??rld in 1995: The retirement of the Komatsu-Zenoah G2D motor and the introduction of the new Komatsu-Zenoah G23LH as the O.E.M. motor for all Go-Ped??oducts, to conform to reduced emissions standards.

Patmont Motor Werks unveiled another new product in 1995, the Liquimatic Go-Ped??quipped with a Hydraulic Torque Converter Drive System (just like a car has) developed completely in house by the design team at Patmont Motor Werks. This design team at Patmont Motor Werks has made many more developments and new innovative designs in the past few years and is constantly working to enhance its various product lines.
